2012 Junior Nationals — Chockfull of Talent
January 30, 2012
Franklin Lakes, NJ
The 2012 APTA Junior Nationals were hosted by the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. Director Mike Gillespie is a veteran at running Junior Nationals, which were previously held in New Canaan, Connecticut, not to mention a two time winner of the 18 & Under Title.
Indian Trail is known for its great hospitality and superb facility boasting eight courts. The weekend had the perfect combination of great weather and strong, smiling players. Teams came from Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia as well as New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.

Corey Delaney and Nicki Ross won the Girls 18 & Under for the fourth time. They have won six national junior titles. Delaney is trying to catch her mother (Bobo) who has 16 national titles including two junior titles. On the boy’s side, Connor Daley and Alex Slobin were also triple winners.
To understand the high level at which these juniors play, take a look at this video clip of the final points of the 18 & Under final, from PaddleTimes. Read more about Corey and Nicki in an article in NJ.com.
Many thanks go to Viking Athletics for its continued support of the APTA Junior Nationals and the complete APTA Junior Tour.
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists!
