Boulder Open Played in Summer-like Conditions
December 16, 2017
Boulder, CO
The 2017 Boulder Open featured a Men's A and B bracket as well as a Women's Open bracket. The weather wasn't exactly good for paddle—sunny in the mid-60s—but quite pleasant for all who were there.
Men’s As: The reigning champions, Andrew Green and Matt Kranich, split this year to go head-to-head in the finals with their new partners. Curt Corrigan and Green took on Jesse Carl and Kranich in a barn burner that almost outlasted the light of day. Carl/Kranich brought home the trophy, with a 7-6, 7-6 victory.
Men’s Bs: Jill Eisenhart (who we all know isn’t a man) and Pete Walters defeated Nick Josephs and James Sigman.
Women’s: The ladies draw had some new timers to tournament competition and some veterans of the game. Nancy Ramsey and Karen Steward were too tough for Polly Dana and Emel Gomulka.
Thanks so much to Eamonn McNaughton for running another great tournament in Colorado. Come join us next year for this fun event!
