The weather was beautiful in Columbus for the third annual (since its revival) Women’s Columbus Open Viking PCQ, hosted by Elysium Tennis. Twenty four teams battled all day long at three sites to see who would win the main and back draw titles. The number one and two seeds held up en route to a great final match. In the end Abby Hand and Amy Heil (Columbus) defeated Dori Easdale and Jill Gilbert (Columbus) in two hard fought sets 6-2, 7-6 (7) to capture the duos first ever tournament win.

Elysium would like to thank the sponsors (Shadetree, Daimler Group and Total Platform Tennis), The Lakes Country Club and Worthington Hills Country Club for the use of their facilities. Thanks once again to Rich and Patrick for helping out with the booze and the food. Special thanks to the Cincinnati ladies who drove up and represented over half of the draw! Lastly, the tournament would not be what it is without Jake Wilson and the staff at Elysium who work to make sure the tourney runs smoothly.

See you all next year and hope Columbus will be bigger and better than ever!
