Mary Doten and Chelsea Nusslock Capture 2012 Women’s Hinsdale Challenge

On February 18, the women of Hinsdale, Illinois, hosted their 3rd annual one-day competition. With players from six states as well as the powerful local Chicago talent, the 24-team tournament was a strong one.

Under sunny skies, the day was highlighted by two great semi-final matches. Two-time Hinsdale Challenge winner, Heather Prop, teamed up with newcomer Ania Kazakevich in a showdown against Mary Doten and Chelsea Nusslock. Doten and Nusslock prevailed in an exciting three-set battle, winning 7-6, 4-6, 7-5. The other semi-final pitted Susan Rudd and Wendy Yang against Suzanne Lemery and Marina Ohlmuller. Rudd and Yang won 6-2, 6-3. In the final, it was Doten and Nusslock who stopped Rudd and Yang, 6-1, 6-1.

It was an outstanding day, showcasing Hinsdale paddle’s passionate paddle fans and welcoming hosts. We hope that more APTA players will join us next year.
