Scott Freund and Alex Hume Defend at Mid Atlantic PCQ
December 14, 2017
Chevy Chase, MD
The weather could not have been better—overcast with snow showers all day long. The heaters were on, the Christmas decorations were up, and the Chevy Chase Club and other clubs in the area were filled with good paddle, great camaraderie, delicious food, and beer. Spectators arrived throughout the entire day, supporting the players from Philly, Baltimore, Delaware, and DC.
It was an all DC-area final! Scott Freund and Alex Hume came in strong to defend their title from 2016. On the other side of the net, the unseeded team of Guga Goncalves and Trevor Spracklin competed well. At the end of the day, there could be only one big winner and Freund and Hume brought their best game. Thanks to tournament directors Guga Goncalves and Javier Waase, to the volunteers, and the staff at the host Chevy Chase Club and other surrounding clubs, and to the fans. A solid day in the DC area, where the game is growing!
