Chatham Makes History as First Varsity Paddle Tennis Team in U.S. History in Win over Bergen Catholic

CHATHAM, NJ - The Chatham High Varsity Paddle team, the first such varsity team to be formed in the United States, won its first-ever varsity match on Tuesday over Bergen Catholic, 8-1, at the Noe Pond Club.
Chatham team captains Heather Ivans and Colin Schroeder led the Cougars with a victory on court one, and the teams of Mason Agostinelli/Pete Proscia, Kyle McClintok/Tyler Shmitter and Aidan Buckley/Sam Mulford all defeated their opponents to give Chatham a sweep of the first four courts.
Mike Huth and Max Berkson lost a very close match in three sets, and the rest of the Chatham pairs, Jackson Singer/JP Allen, James Lapus/Matthew Barnes, DJ Carini/Luke Zurlowand Max Schaefer/Luke Haley all won their matches for Chatham.
