Boston area to host four new Men's tournaments

December 20, 2017
Boston, MA

The Boston area is adding four new Men's tournaments to the paddle calendar.  We will have one tournament a month in our area throughout the paddle season (November thru April).  Each tournament (including our two current tourneys:  The Boston Open and the Brae Burn B) will be geared toward players of different skill levels in order to open up tournament play to a wider group of players.

We have a Player Rating system for the Boston League that we'll use to determine eligibility for each tournament.  You're always permitted (and encouraged) to play in tournaments above your skill level.  We welcome players from outside our area to participate in any of these tournaments.  For those players not in the Boston League, we ask that you use the APTA rating system as a guideline for which tournaments you'd be eligible for.  (The APTA has a Ratings Wizard online which takes less than 5 minutes to fill out).

The following three new tournaments will be played THIS paddle season.  Tournament and Registration info can be found at Boston Paddle Tourneys

Saturday, February 3rd:  "The Ferocious Forties" hosted at Dedham Country and Polo Club.  This tournament is geared towards players with an APTA rating no greater than 3.0.  (The Ferocious Forties name has nothing to do with an age requirement ... it's a reference to the Boston Player Rating this tourney is geared towards.)   Tournament director Evan Ambrose:  eambrose@dedhamclub.org.

Saturday, March 3rd:  "Wellesley Weekend Warriors Paddle Tournament" hosted at Wellesley Country Club.  This tournament is geared toward players with an APTA rating no greater than 3.5.  Tournament director Dave McNaughton:  tennis@wellesleycc.com

Saturday, April 7th:  "The TCC B" hosted at The Country Club in Brookline.  This tournament is geared towards players with an APTA rating no greater than 4.5.  Tournament director: Johan du Randt:  jdurandt@tcclub.org

As a point of reference for those who have participated in the Brae Burn B (held the first Saturday in December), that tournament is geared towards players with an APTA rating no greater than 5.0.

We will also be adding one more tournament to our schedule next season.  In early November, Dedham Country and Polo Club will host a tournament geared towards players with an APTA rating no greater than 4.0.
