In October 2014, Denver Country Club in Denver, Colorado, opened two new courts for the membership. Built by Total Platform Tennis, the members are extremely happy with the courts and they are being used every day!
Since the platform tennis community is still relatively small in Colorado, most of the members are new to the game, but are embracing it fully and are loving being outside during the winter months. There are currently 64 players in the weekly intraclub league and approximately 175 members who use the courts.
The new courts were built next to the existing outdoor skating rink and the atmosphere in the evenings with paddle and hockey is truly amazing. The indoor Skatehouse now doubles as a warming hut for the paddle players.
Ian Hintz is the platform tennis professional at the club and directs a full program of lessons, drills, socials, tournaments, and interclub events with Arapahoe Tennis Club, and plays often with Cary Hodges, Arapahoe’s pro.
Denver Country Club would like to thank Harrow Sports for all its help with platform tennis equipment, especially the custom paddles that have been so popular.
The APTA welcomes the Denver Country Club to the sport and is proud of their quick growth and obvious enthusiasm for platform tennis.
