As the site of several past National Championships and the last five Eastern States Singles, the Greenwich Country Club is excited to host the only National ranking singles tournament of the year. The tournament draws players from a number of states and has included players from age 14 to their 60’s. The draw includes nationally ranked players as well as those who make their mark in their club scrambles and local team matches. The tournament is unique in its broad mix of players and this universal appeal is one of the tournament's key attributes. Singles has a long history in the sport of platform tennis with the first National Championships being played alongside of the first doubles championships in 1938. Once you have played it, you will truly grow to love it – it also may be the best thing that ever happened to your doubles game. From top tournament players to local club athletes, the Eastern States is the perfect start to another exciting season. |
