David Ohlmuller to Be Inducted into the Platform Tennis Hall of Fame

March 5, 2013

David Ohlmuller has been elected into the Platform Tennis Hall of Fame. He will be officially inducted at a ceremony at The Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, on Friday evening, March 8th, during the APTA Men’s and Women’s Nationals. (If you are interested in attending, pleae contact Mike Gillespie at 203-273-0717 or Paddle@indiantrailclub.com for details.)

David’s résumé includes:

1.    Men’s National Champion in 1995, 2001 and 2003
2.    Men’s National Finalist in 2000 and 2004
3.    Mixed National Champion in 1990, 1991 and 1995
4.    Mixed National Finalist in 1992, 1993, 1998 and 1999
5.    Husband/Wife National Champion in 2003 and 2005
6.    Junior National Champion in 1988 (Boys’ 18 & Under)

In the early 1990’s, David was one of the most dominant men’s players and was the most dominant mixed doubles player in our sport.

A hit and run accident in New York City nearly killed him but with incredible perseverance, relentless rehab and a strong attitude, David was not to be denied. He not only survived, he thrived, winning two Men’s National Championships.

A talented, smart competitor on the court, David is well liked by his peers on and off the court as well.  Few players have dominated a sport the way David did from 1990 through 1995…and even fewer have survived a near-fatal accident to come back and take the top honors in the men’s game.

We are proud of David Ohlmuller and all of his accomplishments. Congratulations on becoming the newest member of the Platform Tennis Hall of Fame.
