Roy Anderson and Doug Barrow Win 145+ Nationals

Eighteen teams competed for the APTA Men’s 145+ Nationals title this year. The event continues to garner great numbers, due to the hard work of Rich Lombard and Tournament Director Jo Rogers. After years at Sleepy Hollow Country Club, the venue switched to the Fox Meadow Tennis Club. Home to many legends, it made sense that the legends still playing the game play it there.

The large group lucked out with the weather—the rain was not as bad as anticipated. By all accounts, everyone had a great time. Roy Anderson and Doug Barrow and Roy Anderson won over Jim Bishop and Mike Hanna in a three setter concluding with a tie-breaker. Hanna and Bishop were down 1-5 in the third set before fighting back to 6-6. An entertaining final to end an entertaining day.
