Diane Straus and Connie Jones Win 2015 Women’s 60+ Nationals

Last February, the 2015 Women’s 60+National Championship was going gangbusters. Connie Jones and Diane Straus won their half of the draw. Trish Bloom and Courtia Worth were triumphant in their semifinal. But, the weather took a major turn for the worse. A hailstorm shut down much of Maryland, and the finals as well.

With only three weeks left to make the title official, the four women met and finished out the tournament. Straus and Jones were crowned champions with a score of 6-1, 6-2. Diane Straus now holds 26 titles, the most of any platform tennis player, with few in the running. Jones won her 12th gold! Congratulations to the finalists and winners. Better late than never!
