Viki Stoklasova and Javier Ferrin-Kranewitter Capture Connecticut Mixed

The photos tell the story of how “interesting” the weather was for the Connecticut State Mixed tournament. The level of play was exceedingly interesting, too, with high-level pairs duking it out for the title. Winners Viki Stoklasova and Tournament Director Javier Ferrin-Kranewitter had to take out last year winners, Dana and Mark Parsons, 6-3, 6-4, in the semifinals, while Roxy Enica and Juan Arraya defeated fourth seeds Amy Shay and J.P. McConnell, 6-4, 6-2, in the other semifinal. Stoklasova and Ferrin beat the first seeds Enica and Arraya in two sets to win the tournament.

Javier Ferrin-Kranewitter wrote: Aspetuck Valley Club Country Club played host, offering a superb lunch, while many clubs in the area welcomed the 40 teams from both draws. To complement a great paddle day, Fire Pizza Truck services provided high quality pizzas, made on site for those paddle enthusiasts who stayed or came to watch the last part of the event. In addition, we had one of our sponsors, Spiked Seltzer, providing us with samples of their products.
