2019 Columbus WomenThe 2019 Women’s Columbus Open got off to a little bit of a late start due to the tournament director grossly underestimating the amount of snow and overestimating his shoveling capabilities, but play began within a hour of the original start time.

The day was perfect, featuring competitive matches, great camaraderie and perfect paddle weather. When it was all said and done, the seeds held true with the top two seeds battling in the finals. The top seeded team of Kelly Fischer and Jessica Guyaux from Pittsburgh snuck by the second seeded team of Amy Heil and Alice Tunaru, 6-3,3-6,6-2 in a highly entertaining final match.

2019 Columbus Women AllThank you to all who made the day possible. Our sponsors this year were Snap Fitness, Crest Retirement, Total Platform Tennis, and again, Rich Ihlendorf provided all the beer and wine. Thank you to Anneliese Adkinson for spearheading the lunch and the favors and to all the Elysium staff who worked hard leading up to the event and all day to make sure the tournament ran smoothly. Finally, thank you to all of the out-of-town players for coming in and we hope to see you all again next year!
