Tournament Director Russ Burgess writes: “Perfect paddle weather blessed us on Saturday at the Stonington COMO for the 2021 COMO Average Joe. We had 16 teams from Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York. The finals went on at about 3:00 PM featuring Brad Feld and Matthew Curren from West Hartford versus Tom Bovino and Michael Renaud from Stonington. Bovino/Renaud won. 7-5, 6-4. in a patiently played final. The Quarter Reprieve was won by another Stonington team of Chris Bonkowski and Stefan Jones. They beat Fred Degrootha and JIm Maynard (Stonington) in a close three-set match. Other winners were Gus Jacobson and Adrian Rodriguez (West Hartford) in the Consolation finals and John Kinney and Peter MacDonald (Hartford Area) in the Consolation Reprieve.”
