Steve Nycum and Peter Morrow Win Wilmington Way Over 60

With the threat of another snow storm arriving, the Wilmington Way Way Way Over 60 Tournament was held on Saturday, December 14, 2013.

Steve Nycum (defending champion) and Peter Morrow (two-time national champion) were the number one seed. The 2011 champions, Randy Singer and Barry Snyder, were seeded second. Both teams reached the final. Nycum and Morrow started with a hold and break. However, before they knew it, they lost the first set, 6-2. After making a few adjustments, Nycum and Morrow won the second set, 6-1.The rules of the tournament provide for a ten point tie-breaker instead of a third set. Singer and Snyder kept it close, but Nycum served for the match at 9-8, and held for a 10-8 victory. In the play-off for third place, the dark horse team of Jeff Brooks and Steve Ferrer brought home the victory.
