There’s a New Sheriff in Singles

In its sixth year, the Eastern States Singles Championship chaired by Roger Knight garnered another outstanding group of athletes. Without three-time winner Mark Parsons and three-time finalist Mike Cochrane in the draw, there was room for new talent. Peruvian native Enrique Catter outlasted Swede Sebastian Bredberg in a rubber-leg match, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.

For the second year, women joined the draw and held a final. Kate Macauley beat out Courtney Adams for the title.
