Sage Shanley and Chris Cappello Land Island B Mixed

When you are playing paddle in shorts in February, either it’s a beautiful day or the competition is making you jump. Or both, which was the case at the Island B Mixed held at Newport Country Club and Conanicut Yacht Club in Jamestown, Rhode Island.
Sage Shanley, a relative newcomer to paddle, and Chris Cappello, rolled through the draw, blanking every team in one set until they hit finalists Alyce Dwyer and Daryl Bender.
Thanks to Tournament Directors Alyce Dwyer and Meg Myles, along with Tim O’Neill and Greg Hedberg, who put together a well-organized tournament and successful day.
