Del Owen and Cathy White Light up Lehigh Valley PCQ

Region III held their second women’s PCQ of the 2019-2020 season on Friday, December 6, at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem.

Sixteen teams voyaged to “Paddle Island” where they enjoyed great company, reggae music on the patio, and a tropical menu including sautéed-to-order jerk chicken/shrimp/veggie kabobs, Caribbean rice, and key lime squares.

As always, it was a friendly field of tough competition. There were many three-set matches and tie-breakers, including the final, where Del Owen and Cathy White prevailed 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 (after defeating Kochis and Kochis in their semifinal, 3-6, 7-6, 6-3).

This year’s various bracket winners took home a diverse collection of island-themed beach towels, with the champs also hauling out some very hard-earned Malibu & spiced rum.
