Lobs for Love
A Charitable Paddle Tournament & Round Robin for Oasis

Tournament Director Elaine Urciuolli writes: “On Tuesday, October 5, Lobs for Love held the 12th Annual Platform Tennis Tournament. The event benefitted Oasis– A Haven for Women and Children, a nonprofit organization serving impoverished women and children in Paterson, NJ. The event was sold out with 64 paddle players participating in the tournament and 12 players in the newest addition to the event, a round robin! The tournament was at the Brookside Racquet & Swim Club (Allendale) and Indian Trail Club (Franklin Lakes). The round robin was held at Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club (Ridgewood). By the afternoon, all the players gathered at Brookside where they enjoyed laughs, lunch, vendor shopping, and a tricky tray extravaganza under an open tent. Jen Brady, Oasis Executive Director, spoke at the event and provided a brief overview of what Oasis provides the Paterson community. Wendy Day and Liz Perry won the tournament championship, while Charann Claire and Jodi Culloty were runner ups. Holly Rickert won the round robin. Thank you to all the participants and event donators. We are proud to announce that the event raised close to $14,000 to benefit Oasis - A Haven for Women and Children.”
