Jerry Albrikes and Jim Greenho Fly High at Low Country Classic

Charleston welcomed its first sub 50-degree cold front of the season for the 3rd annual Low Country Men’s Classic hosted by Jerry Albrikes and the LTP Tennis Club. Beneath bright blue skies, 12 teams did battle all day long. It was great to see a steady increase in the number of local players along with several out-of-towners including past national champ Mike Cochrane.

In the finals, Albrikes and Jim Greenho defeated Peter Harvey and Russ Burgess, 6-4, 6-3. It was Harvey’s third trip to the finals (winning twice) and the 2010 national champ Albrikes’ first time winning his home event.

Teams from Rhode Island and Chicago made the trip for a Charleston weekend. Thanks to the LTP Tennis Club staff for a great event.
