Pat and Mike Daniels Win at Ocean Pines 50+ Mixed

Ocean Pines Platform Tennis held their first 50+ mixed doubles tournament on Saturday, October 11th.



The weather forecaster's prediction for a mostly rain-free afternoon was not even close. Despite the soggy courts, all the matches were hard fought. The level of play and talent Ocean Pines attracted was amazing. Every point was contested. Eight hours of hard serves, powerful drives, and strategic play off the screens made this an exciting event. Players converged from Washington, Delaware, Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. All the teams had the opportunity to play four matches. At the end of the tournament, the four top teams were awarded their prizes and all the players followed up with a dinner celebration in the clubhouse. First place winners were Mike and Pat Daniels. Jim Freeman and Laurie Hissey took second place. Lonnie Adams and Marie Lunczynski placed third and Mike and Tracy Groft came in fourth place.

Ocean Pines Platform Tennis was proud to have two of their members, Jim Freeman and Marie Lunczyski, place second and third, respectively. This was a great opportunity to show off the beautiful Ocean Pines community located on the eastern shore of Maryland.
