Karen Crick and Nan Miller Win Inaugural Winston-Salem Women’s

After 16 years of hosting a Men's PCQ event and now an NRT, Old Town Club in Winston-Salem, NC was excited to introduce a ladies PCQ event, Paddle In The Piedmont. The previous week’s weather was not our friend as the Piedmont received 14" of snow (about four years worth for the area), and then remained cold. Significant rain came in Friday to remove most of the snow and stayed until approximately 8:30 AM on the day of the event. 

16 ladies from Atlanta, Charlotte, and Winston-Salem competed until 12:15 PM when the sky opened up once again and forced an impromptu lunch break. After a 90-minute respite, players returned to the courts to finish the event in overcast skies with the sun trying to break through. The event saw some outstanding competition from veterans, and introduced some new players to tournament paddle. 

Old Town Club looks forward to offering Southern Hospitality to an expanded draw in 2019.
