This past weekend, The Winter Club of Lake Forest played host to the "Paddle for Alzheimer's" event and thankfully it was a great success! The weather in Chicago was perfect with temperatures in the mid-70s all night long and proved to be the ideal backdrop for some friendly paddle competition. The moneyball tournament consisted of 8 teams of 3 players. Participants received a "Paddle for Alzheimer's" T-shirt and were treated to a full bar and dinner consisting of Dan's famous seafood paella. After three hours of fierce competition, Brent Jones, Pete Butler, and Ryan Peterson came out victorious. As winners of the event, they each received a Series Won paddle tennis needlepoint belt. In addition, we had three raffle prizes: a paddle donated by Xenon, a Series Won paddle tennis needlepoint belt, and a gift card to Smith's Men's Store in Lake Forest, IL. Special thanks to Brad Moore, Smith's Men's Store, Xenon Paddle, and Series Won Platform Tennis Apparel. Additionally, and most importantly, fundraising efforts generated over $10,000 for the Alzheimer's Association.
