Beth Cherico and Melissa Straub Tops at Plain Jane

Tournament Director Patty Goldfeder said, “We had a great day for the Plain Jane Tournament! Everyone was really excited to play. We put a lot of thought into making this a safe, fun tournament for the players. Beth Cherico and Melissa Straub (Italian Club, Stamford) won the finals versus Terri Hott and Tobey Wallace (Waveny, New Canaan). It was Terri and Tobey’s first time playing a tournament!

Quarter Reprieve: Nicole Ahrens and Katrina Yao (Waveny, New Canaan) beat Shelley Eccleston and Erin Scanlon (Waveny) 6-1, 6-1.
Consolation: Hilary Feinstein and Cara Ganser (Roxbury S & T) beat Rosemary Cosentino and Caroline Garvey (Westside T. C., NY) 6-1, 6-1. It was Hilary and Cara’s first ever tournament and Rosemary and Caroline participate in the Plain Jane every year.
Consolation Reprieve: Patty Goldfeder and Karen Aranow beat Kate Beichner and Karen Bachand (all from Essex Platform Tennis) 6-2, 6-2. /

A great time was had by all and I feel very fortunate that we were able to get this played this year .” /
