Locals Gretchen Biggs & Bob Satter Win Rhode Island Mixed

Eleven teams turned up for the Rhode Island Mixed tournament on an extremely bright and sunny day. In the semi-finals, the first seeds, Judy Takach and Jeff Takach, won against Karen Lyons and Pete Lyons, 6-4, 6-0. Playing together for the first time, Gretchen Biggs and partner Bob Satter won against Amy Chafee and Mark Chafee, 6-3, 6-1.

A very exciting finals followed with Biggs and Satter winning against the stellar Takach and Takach, 7-6, 6-3.

The consolation finals were won by Jim Dey and Leah Nero against Yumiko Sparkman and John Sparkman, 6-2, 7-5.

The reprieve finals were won by Carolyn Remitz and Rick Remitz against Kim Hyde and Bob Winchester, 0-6, 7-5, 6-1.
