Final Draws

In a topsy-turvy final, #3 seed Scott Kahler and Matt Riva gave #1 seed Brett Englsberg and Jeff McMaster (see second photo below) something to think about, but the Englsberg/McMaster  team prevailed, 7-6, 1-6, 7-6.  With a field of 23 teams, the tournament field was lively and deep.

For the women, #1 seed Nathalie Lemieux and Kelly Fisher took on unseeded Jennifer Schneider and Kelly Brown (see first photo below.) Brown/Schneider gave Buffalo wings, winning 6-1, 6-1. Another rich and deep field, the women had 15 teams participate.

Host clubs Shadow Lake of Penfield and Country Club of Rochester (CCR) were busy all weekend, with the Men’s B and Women’s B bringing over 20 more teams to the courts. In the Men’s B, Jack Odenbach and John Newell narrowly beat Mike Smith and Pat LaVell (see third photo below), 7-6, 6-4. For the women, Lynn Diefendorf and Katy Hanrahan won over Keegan E. Brown and Janelle Giehl, 6-3, 6-0.
