With a competitive draw and all levels welcome, the People’s United Seacoast Women’s B went strong into a beautiful cool, fall evening. Boston area’s Megan Goldsmith and Karen McNamara won a two-set thriller over York’s Lauren Delong and Katherine Foster. Prizes were succulents created by Jack from Wentworth Greenhouses (Dover, NH). Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were served by Cider Hill Catering just down the road, bringing the men’s and women’s players together to celebrate a super Saturday of paddle.
David Kjeldsen and his wife, Deb, stopped by both tournament locations. They have recently moved from Long Island to the quieter small town of Lyman, Maine. They graciously donated a Master Athletics paddle and backpack, which was raffled off during the weekend. The lucky winners were Erica Curtis and Henry Donaldson of Brookline Paddle Club. All proceeds went to the Boardman-Ellis VFW in York to show great support on Veteran’s Day Weekend.
