Cartier & Godikson, Morneau & Morneau Take Shoreline Classic Men’s, Mixed

Cartier and Godikson - Morneau and Morneau have captured the 2011 Shelter Harbor Inn’s Shoreline Classic paddle tournaments. A great weekend March 26th and 27th of fun and paddle with perfect weather; and 14 men’s teams and a remarkable 23 mixed doubles teams. Geoff Cartier and Steve Godikson won a hard fought final over Dan McCormick and Marc Porter 7-6, 64. The semi’s had Cartier and Godikson beating Rob Coster and Gordon Teglas 61- 6-4 and McCormick and Porter beating Russ Burgess and Pete Harvey 7-5, 6-4. The Consolation winners were Bill Horne and Chip Leveroni in a hard fought match over Allyn Michalic and Junius Clark 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. The reprieve was won by George Moore and Phil Johnson over Brad Hoffman and Bill Bodde 4-6, 6-0, 6-3. In the mixed doubles final an exciting match had Jeff and Kate Morneau prevailing over Geoff Cartier and Kristi Martin 7-5, 7-5. The semi’s had the Morneau’s winning over Gil and Kris Keagan 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 and Cartier and Martin over Per and Asa Nilsson 6-3, 6-3. The consolation was won by Mary Hutchinson and Bertrand Dumont over Nuffy Murphy and Dan McBride 6-4, 6-3. The reprieve winners were Jeannie Pinter and John Brescher over Ann Harvey and Duncan Welch.
