Jerry Albrikes and Dan Hansen Prevail at Shoreline Classic

Tournament volunteer Amanda Gallagher writes: On April 2, 2022, 24 teams met up at the COMO in Stonington, CT and the Essex Paddle Tennis Club in Essex, CT for the Men’s Shoreline Classic NRT. This was the first year that the Shoreline Classic qualified as a National Ranking Tournament and the excitement was high. The weather was perfect for paddle and the tournament drew a large and enthusiastic group of spectators at both Essex and Stonington. It was a welcome return to normalcy for the players and fans after the last two years. Even though it was tough going for the players who found themselves up against the home-crowd favorites, Jerry Albrikes and Dan Hansen, everyone was happy to have so many paddle lovers out there watching and supporting the tournament even if that meant that they didn’t get much fan support. The tournament was marked by upsets. It was anything goes out there and no one was safe. But everyone played great paddle.
