A small but talented group of players took over the Stonington COMO this weekend. The unseeded team of Robert Herrera Asin and Jose Salazar Martin dominated the eight-team field without losing a set, defeating Ilya Levin and Ned Mandel, 6-4, 6-1 in the final. The match of the tournament was the semifinal victory for the second seeds Levin/Mandel over Josep Baro and John Cassas, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4. Lunch—pulled pork, lobster rolls, and turkey or chicken sandwiches—was served by Dog Watch in Stonington. Thank you to Tournament Director Jerry Albrikes and the volunteers and players who rallied quickly for this new event.
