Spring came early in Chapel Hill this year with sun and temperatures in the 70s making it a beautiful day for spectators.
Longtime Richmond, VA partners Peyton Lawson and Blake Gayle split up and partnered with top Charlotte, NC players Randy Lofgren and Eric Miller. Both teams battled their way to the finals with Lawson and Miller coming out on top 6-3,7-6.
It was a solid draw throughout with Winston/Salem's John Morris/Mike Auger winning the feed-in back draw over Charlotte's Chris Steyl/Brad Rush.
Players noted that college tennis standouts Cory Parr and Brian Hunter could be a force to be reckoned with next season and we're grateful they have not yet teamed up with each other.
