2016 War at the Shore Results

Always a very competitive event, the War at the Shore did not disappoint this past Saturday. Pam Ruoff and Lucas Green came away with the title, defeating Kerri Delmonico and Michael Montalbano 6-3, 6-1. Ruoff and Green beat Andrea Noyes and Oleg Tioutine in the semis, and Delmonico and Montalbano took out Amy and Chris Shay in a three-setter. The Shays survived a tight contest with Judy Takach and Bob Winchester in the quarterfinals, barely coming away with a 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 victory.

Liz Jaffe and Dan Englander, who lost to Ruoff and Green in the quarters, won the quarterfinal reprieve. Chris McCabe and Tina Wein won the consolation, and Joanne O’Shaughnessy and Steve Ellis were the lucky loser winners.

The skies threatened, but the rain held off, and all players got in some terrific paddle to kick off the season.
