Q: Did you play college tennis/other sports?
A: I played tennis, basketball and softball at Emmanuel College in Boston.  

Q: How long have you played platform tennis/how were you introduced to the game?
A: 18 years. I was introduced to the game at Misquamicut Country Club in Watch Hill, RI.  Dan McCormick said, “Hey why don't you try this out, you might be good at it?”

Q: When you started, what were the biggest adjustments you had to make as a tennis player?
A: I had to learn patience and strategy.  Also obviously figuring out screens was tough. It wasn't until about five years in where I felt like I was starting to really understand the screens and using them to my advantage.

Q: How do you make practicing fun?
A: I don't practice. I don't really have time with a young daughter and work. I wish I could, though.

Q: Where is your favorite place to play?
A: It was on the rooftop at Town Tennis in NYC but they closed.

Q: List one or more highlights of your platform tennis career OR the funniest or best thing that happened to you on a platform tennis court?
A: I think the highlight was winning the APTA Nationals in Pittsburgh with Aila Main.

Q: What is your trick/mental fix to use when you feel pressure in a match?
A: I just tell myself to go for high percentage shots and keep the ball in play, and don't do anything risky.

Q: Who do you wish was watching you at your best match?
A: Riley Stulac.

Q: List any other favorite hobbies you have:
A: Golf (I don't play much) and drinking wine :)

Q: What is your favorite vacation spot?
A: Anywhere I can play golf and read on a beach.

A: Was a 5-star chef in a prior life.

Q: What is your pre-match warm up/routine?
A: It depends on what stage of the tournament I am in. Early rounds I just probably relax and talk to the girls in hut. In later rounds I would try and corner my partner and really talk about the strategies we would execute in the match.

Q: What is your favorite shot?
A: Any shot that makes it over the net. But really, probably my volley.

Q: What is your favorite part of playing doubles and the best part of competing?
A: The great friends I have made in the game. I love bonding with my partner and trying to play our best, and competing with integrity and having fun.

A: Director of Tennis and Platform Tennis at the Bronxville Field Club

A: Jessica Watts

Q: Did you play college tennis or other sports?
A: I played college tennis at Elon University. I also played soccer, Australian Rules Football and cricket growing up.

Q: Describe any international tennis you participated in:
A: I played ITF futures.

Q: How long have you played platform tennis?
A: I started in 2006.

Q: When you started, what were the biggest adjustments you had to make as a tennis player?
A: I had to learn how to play more patiently.

Q: How do you make practicing fun?
A: I make it competitive.

Q: Where is your favorite place to play?
A: Westchester (Home)

Q: List one or more highlights of your platform tennis career OR the funniest or best thing that happened to you on a platform tennis court?
A: The best thing was winning Lehigh Invitational when the prize was a villa in the Dominican Republic.

A: I try to pretend it is just practice.

A: My wife

A: Hiking

A: I don’t like to warm up for very long.

A: Playing with a partner is more fun than playing singles in tennis.
