The APTA is saddened by the news that Charles “Chuck” Vasoll passed away earlier this week. Chuck was inducted into the Platform Tennis Hall of Fame in 2005 for his dedication to the game. He served as President of the APTA from 1988-1992 and sat on the APTA Board from 1987-1998, as well as being part of the Long Island Platform Tennis Association (LIPTA) for over 20 years. He was known for his business acumen and righting the APTA’s balance sheet during a challenging time in the world of platform tennis. He also spent much of his spare time working on the Platform Tennis News, a labor of love.

A long-time member of Cherry Valley Country Club in Garden City, New York, Chuck was on the court as much as possible; in his own words, “even though the meager skills I once had have left me. I just plain love the game.”
