2023 APTA Cup Scenarios

With all APTA Tour events except for Nationals now completed, we wanted to give players and fans an update on where things stand with the season’s APTA Cup: who can win it and what scenarios could play out at Nationals.

As a reminder, the APTA Cup is the season-long race for $40,000 in prize money—$20,000 for men and $20,000 for women—paid out to four men and four women based on their best six results throughout the 2022-2023 APTA Tour events. The four Grand Prix (GP) tournaments carry twice the points weight of a non-GP tournament and Nationals carries twice the weight of a GP (or four times the weight of a non-GP tournament). This link provides a details breakdown of prize money and APTA Cup points: APTA Tour 101 presented by Remedy+

Men’s Cup Standings Having won all four Grand Prix tournaments this season, Johan du Randt and Stephen Mitchell are comfortably in the driver's seat to split the 1st and 2nd place prize money. A top-10 finish at Nationals will guarantee the APTA Cup and make them back-to-back APTA Cup winners. Should du Randt/Mitchell finish outside the top 10, Tyler Fraser and Adam Morgan and Chris Humphries and Felipe Osses-Konig both could grab the Cup with a win at Nationals.

With Cup points so heavily weighted towards Nationals, the race for the 3rd and 4th place money is wide open for any of the players in the top 20 in Cup points standings: APTA Cup Men's Standings

Women’s Cup Standings With wins at three out of four Grand Prix tournaments this season (following a clean sweep last year), Florentina Hanisch and Ana Marija Zubori are in pole position to repeat as APTA Cup winners. To guarantee the Cup they will need to make it to the finals at Nationals. If Hanisch/Zubori do not make the finals, Roxy Enica and Gabriela Niculescu can earn the Cup if they win Nationals. If Hanisch & Zubori do not make the semis at Nationals, Charlotte Sikora and Allison Morgan can also win the Cup with a victory at Nationals.

With Cup points so heavily weighted towards Nationals, the race for the 3rd and 4th place money is wide open for any of the players in the top 12 in Cup points standings: APTA Cup Women's Standings
