Calling All Players for a Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser

November 20, 2012
Summit, NJ

1st ServeHurricane Sandy had a dramatic impact on parts of the Northeast and now the first relief platform tennis event will help those in need.

Date: Tuesday, November 27, 2012, from 9:15 AM until 12:30 PM
Location: Canoe Brook Country Club will host a fundraising “tournament.” Play will also take place at Centercourt Athletic Center and the Short Hills Club.

The format couldn’t be more fun. You will be paired with different partners throughout the morning, all of them teaching pros or nationally-ranked players. When you aren’t playing, you can test your mettle at several different stations (for a small contribution).

On top of an entry fee donation, event planners Patty Hogan, Bill Kloss and Marjorie Hodson are hoping you’ll bring some loose money for the 50-50 games and an underloved tournament favor for a surprise exchange. (Any clothing items remaining unclaimed will be donated.)

Funds will go to the United Way Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts and to Sea Bright Rising, an organization devoted to the relief of the needy and/or displaced.
