Bob Brown Inducted into Westchester Sports Hall of Fame

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY

Platform tennis’s own Bob Brown has been elected to the Westchester (NY) Sports Hall of Fame, joining such notables as Lou Gehrig, Ralph Branca, Arthur Ashe, Frank Gifford, Gene Sarazen. The Westchester Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1968 “to honor professional and amateur sportsmen and sportswomen, living or deceased, who have gained prominence and who have made substantial contributions to sports in Westchester County”.

Bob was elected in recognition of his record in platform tennis (37 Nationals finals, 20 wins, 17 finalists), national golf championships while living in Indonesia, track achievements (including Scarsdale High School long jump record set in 1946 and still stands), and his long time, dedicated service to the administration and growth of platform tennis, which was invented in Westchester.

The induction ceremony will take place in October.
