The MashUp Fundraiser Combines Platform Tennis and Squash

The fourth annual SquashBusters MashUp, presented by Anbaric on Sunday, December 11, kicks off with a platform tennis competition in the morning at North Andover Country Club, featuring teams from NACC, Concord Country Club, The Country Club, and Dedham Country Club. Each team is headed by a pro fighting for bragging rights and the largest team donation. Some of the nicest men in our sport signed on—Johan du Randt, Genius Chidzikwe, Tom Nolan, and Scott Staniar. After the matches, the pros will put on an exhibition, which always features crazy shot-making and lots of laughs.

At noon, head to the Brooks School for a squash competition and party. Some of the best squash pros—Wail El Hindi, Clinton Leeuw, David Palmer, Ramit Tandon—and their teams will be competing, along with the SquashBuster students and players from Brooks and Phillips Academy. It’s a great day of sport and goodwill.

SquashBusters serves more than 300 students in Boston and Lawrence, offering a sports-based afterschool youth development program. Students are introduced to the game of squash, which is used as a springboard for developing life skills for success. All SquashBuster participants have the goal of completing college and adopting health and fitness into their lifestyle. All proceeds from the MashUp support the 85 SquashBusters Lawrence students.

We all know a great squash shot in the corners is what differentiates the paddle pros from the common players. Come support this event, watch some amazing paddle and squash, and support a group of youth players who could be the future of both sports.
