Glen Ellyn Park District Holds Pre-Season Clinic

Glen Ellyn is the latest addition to the Chicago area’s growing paddle community. With help from an APTA Grow the Game grant, two new courts and a warming hut were built in Maryknoll Park.

On Saturday, September 15, area pros Robert Stahl, Chip Beasley and Nancy O'Sullivan ran a clinic for about 30 people. Stahl (seen in the center, at right) reports, “We had beginners and a group of women who play regularly at Glen Ellyn looking to join the Chicago platform tennis league. A Wilson rep was there, too, and sold a bunch of paddles and balls. It was 75-80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky.”
