Tournament Director Tim Buwick writes: “It was a picture-perfect, unseasonably cold day for paddle as Olde Providence Racquet Club hosted the Charlotte Men’s Open NRT. We had 22 teams entered for this 8th annual event, with the starting temperature nearly matching the size of the draw for this one-day event. For the eight consecutive year, the top seeds Nathan Crick and Randy Lofgren won the title at their home club, defeating fellow OPRC members Nic Nilsson and Claes Persson, 6-4, 6-2, in the final. In an epic 5th place match, John Morris and Blaise Taylor outlasted the Atlanta duo of K.C. Kadow and Mark Morneau, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. Tommy Beecher and Cameron Rudd defeated the Charlotte team of Matt Carpenter and Boyd Despard 6-4, 6-2 to win the consolation bracket.”

The APTA thanks Tournament Director Tim Buwick, host club Olde Providence Racquet Club, Prosperity Athletic Club, and all the players for competing well.
