Brzova-Stoklasova Command at Chicago Charities

It was a story of the inexorable march to victory by National Champions Ana Brzova and Viki Stoklasova.
On the way to their third title in three tournaments this fall they did not drop a set, and did not lose more than 5 games in any match. In the final, six-time National Champion Mary Doten and two time Charities winner Jane McNitt could not dent the precision of Brzova and Stoklasova, who won 6-1, 6-1.
The backdraws had some heated contests, with many going to three sets. The quarter reprieve showcased four women all ranked in the top 15 nationally.
Teams traveled from as far as California, New Jersey, and Massachusetts to battle the deep Chicago league teams. We also always like to welcome our teams from “Up North.”
