Margaet G. ("Peggy") Stanton died peacefully in her home in Quogue, New York on June 17, 2009, at the age of 85.

Peggy was a major contributor to the advancement of women's platform tennis and was also a distinguished player. More

The APTA held its annual meeting and board meeting on Friday-Saturday, May 8-9, 2009, at the Head of the Bay Club in Long Island, NY. New board members were voted in, regional, financial and other reports were delivered, and the board held extensive meetings on a wide variety of topics. As he turned over his duties as APTA President to Tim McAvoy, Mark Fischl was honored with the new APTA Service Award.  More

Paul served the sport of platform tennis for many years and made significant contributions to the sport, including establishing the Honor Award, running many tournaments and chairing the APTA Umpire's Committee. He was a member of the APTA Board and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002. More

Hall of Fame Committee Chairman Bob Brown has announced that Winnie Hatch and Sharon Hummers have been elected by the APTA Board to the Platform Tennis Hall of Fame, in recognition of their outstanding achievements on the court as well as their other contributions to the game. The induction ceremonies will take place on February 11, 2009 at the Women's Senior Nationals at the Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, New Jersey. Congratulations, ladies!
